I thought you had to pay out of pocket for any kind of consultation and since I had just been on unpaid bedrest for weeks, plus unpaid maternity leave, I felt there was no way to get professional help. Upon further research, I have also found that many insurance plans will cover a visit with a healthcare provider regarding breastfeeding assistance. Check with your insurance company, you may be covered for more than you thought.
